If you are in the market for a change of job then you should give your resume some serious thought. Your resume is what sets the first impression in the mind of the interviewer and a well presented resume could well land you the job.
Now, we know that you already know that but did it occur to you that it is a good resume that will get you the call for the interview in the first place? On the other hand a resume that is unprofessionally drafted will sooner be thrown into the “on record” shelf and you will (or may) be informed that you are on their tentative list and that they will call when they have a suitable opening for you. Read that as “we’ll call you, you don’t call us. Then you can continue your search for jobs where you may be met with the same response. So if you have had such experiences in the past then it is high time you got down to re-writing your resume in a way that the prospective employer will get a good first impression of your profile.
When it comes to creating a resume for a customer service position there are a few things that you must keep in mind to deliver the message to the person going through your resume. There are different resumes for different job profiles and your resume should highlight all the qualities you have that are required to do the job right.
Begin making out your resume by getting your priorities right. You must take some time off and decide which part of serving customers you are best at. There are many aspects of customer service and you should highlight your talents in the particular field. Then you must highlight this talent in your resume in a way that it pops right out at the person reading there resume. Do not hide your talents in the fine print. The information relevant to your job that pertain to your talents that can be applied to the job must be highlighted and outstanding.
Look at your resume as a document that is telling the interviewer all about your self. Do not configure your resume with a ‘Biodata’. A resume must only contain relevant information about your educational qualifications and your work experience. A Biodata will contain information about your self, the color of your hair, your height, the shade of your skin and also your education and work experience. So when you are making your resume keep to the specifics. As I was saying, your resume must be a document that speaks to the interviewer about your education, work experience and what you are capable or confident of handling.
This should the introduction of the resume and then comes the intricate details. Keep this in mind and make your resume speak for you – the rest will be easy talking!
