How Do I Run A Resume Writing And Interview Workshop?

November 8, 2009 by admin

I am conducting a workshop for 4 adult women tomorrow evening about writing resume’s, what to do at an interview, etc. These women are stay-at-home mother’s who are now looking to enter the work force. Any pointers on how to conduct a workshop for them? Only serious answers please!

Hmmm, Hopefully you already possess some experience &/or skills in this area so you will have some credability & knowledge when you present.
I would suggest you spend some time reviewing sites on line like monster.com & careerbuilder.com as they both have lots of advice about effective resumes & interviewing do’s & don’ts . There are at least a dozen sites out there to pick out little tidbits from.
Your state is also likely to have a job search website, & my experience has been they are often the best of all the online sites.
You might also consider asking the women ahead of time if they have any specific questions or concerns for you to address. This will give you something to start with, & also indicate how much they may already know. You don’t want to be too basic if they have some good knowledge already, & conversely you don’t want to be intimidating them w things that are too confusing.
    Good Luck !
