Hey thanks this helps a lot!!! Um can you really use the Video Resume method for applying for jobs?

  2. BrianKrueger says:

Yes, depending on the employer. Old school, possibly not. New school, high tech, it can be a differentiator for you.

I know you said not to script your resume, but does it help to write down what you want to say before you make the video? I some times find myself recording over and over if there is a problem or something I don’t like about my video. Is there anything I can do to make my videos professional like yours?

  4. FloppyMeat says:

This this very professional and you make it look so easy!
When doing a video resume can I be creative or just down to the point?

  5. BrianKrueger says:

You can practice with a basic script, but do your best to avoid using the script during the actual video, since you would end up losing eye contact (unless you have a professional teleprompter) and it will make you appear less natural. Try your best to be conversational and personally engaging.

  6. BrianKrueger says:

You can be creative, within reason. As long as what you say will be perceived as a positive or minimally neutral (i.e. not negative) to your audience, be as creative as you want. But also remember that a video is broadband in distribution, meaning that you don’t have full control over who might view it.
