Teen Writing A Resume With No Work Experience?

I’m 14 and I want a job at the local IGA supermarket, but I don’t know how to write my resume, as I have no work experience.
What are they going to look for in a resume?

Include your current school and grade (and GPA if its good)
Any clubs, teams, committees, etc. that you are involved with.
Any extra-curricular activites you are involved with
Any volunteer/community service experiences you have.
Any small jobs your might have had (pet sititng, baby sitting, etc.)
Add three adult refrences (not relatives) who will vouch that you are responsible, courteous, and friendly.
Most jobs like this require you to fill out an application and rarely ask for a resume. BUT handing a professional looking resume to a employer can score big bonus points when you are a teenager.
If you only fill half a page dont worry too much, no one is expecting tons of experience when you are 14

Then write about what you have.
If you are on the honor roll, have won awards or recognition for anything, if you are active on the chess team or any clubs, sports, or church groups. My daughter included her post-secondary goals. “After high school I plan to major in —–” She also included babysitting, pet sitting jobs with references. She used a big, businesslike font (14 Tahoma) with wide margins and lots of white space. It looked pretty good when she got done with it.

Have a section titled “Significant Courses” where you list a few of your best classes with various concepts you learned in them.
If your GPA is >3.0 , put it on there.
Other than that, I wouldn’t worry right now. I doubt you would even need a resume for this kind of position. Simply present yourself in a good manner to the hiring manager.

    Clubs?
    After school activities?
    Awards?
Were you class captain or whatever?
    A+’s from teachers?
    Anything with leadership qualities.
I just got a job at my local IGA. :)

Do you even need a Resume?
Write about what you are good at and like to do. At your age Employers don’t expect a lot of work-experience. Just make sure you use Spell-check an proper Grammar.
