Don't worry about making it long most employers dont even read the whole resume, they browse for keywords and skills they are looking for. Say if you writing a resume for a IT job, after all the basic information just start listing your knowledge of what you are applying for... for example a IT job applicant would put microsoft office, microsoft windows xp/2000/vista, red hat linux, unix, cisco routers, VPN, tcp/ip configuration, WAN, LAN ... etc etc etc make like a half a page list of whatever you know in the field you are applying for...
good luck

The tips mentioned in this site is not to stand out, but is a standard resume format, it helps you keep the resume simple but very effective. It tries only to make the interviewer feel that you are the right person for the job.

I hire for a large call center and see a lot of resumes. Make your resume is one page, on a nice thicker paper, no spelling or grammar mistakes, include references and just be honest. Include you a hard worked, loyal, team player and willing to learn!
