Skip it entirely and use the space for more relevant information. Believe me – I work in HR and this resume section is so widely abused that I don’t even look at it any more. Most people just put in something like, “Seeking a [position title] job with [your company]“, which is really annoying. I mean, of course your objective is to get a job with my company – that’s why you turned in a resume!
It’s a much much better idea to spend your time tailoring the resume and cover letter to the specific items listed in the job posting description. This will give potential employers a much better idea of whether or not you’re a good fit for the job than anything you can put in the objective section.
Send your brother good luck on the job search – it’s tough out there!

Great question! The resume objective has one primary goal – to show your future employer WHY your the best candidate for the job!
To quote from the source below:
“Even before writing your resume some resume templates ask you for your “objective”. This is actually one of the 1st sections HR looks at (since its at the top!) so can really make a difference to your resume!
The intent of the objective is to really let your potential future employer know WHY your the best candidate for the job! A good objective will highlight exactly what the employer is looking for based on the job description thats been written.”
Since the objective is at the top of the resume its one of the 1st sections HR will read so its important to get it right!

An objective statement in a resume is passé.
Instead of writing an objective, write a strong summary of your experience, skills, and education, in your resume, that focuses on fulfilling the needs of the employer.
Here’s the format for your resume:
    1. Name, address, telephone numbers (work and home), and e-mail ID
    2. Summary of your qualifications and skills
    3. Awards
    4. Internship experience
    5. On- and off-campus work experience
    6. Project Work
    7. Computer skills / other skills
    8. Core Courses
    9. Education details
    10. Voluntary work or other work experience (if any)
    11. Student Membership in professional associations
Note: You may have to re-arrange the order of the items in 3-11 above, based on the job profile.

You can say your “Looking for an interesting position with a growing company”. Keep in mind it should be short and simple, On your references, Put references on request, Always put only professional references never friends or family. Hope this will help you with your problem.
