When Writing Your Resume…how Would You Phrase That You Speak Another Language?

I am creating a resume to apply for a flight attendant position. I want to add that I can speak french, however I am not fluent. I studied it in high school and college but I would not be able to have a full conversation with someone in french. I am able to understand it when I read it, and I am able to write it. How would I phrase that since I am not fluent?

“I have a reasonable grasp of oral French which I studied at school and at college, and I am also able to read and write it adequately.”
As a flight attendant you would not be expected to hold sophisticated conversations whilst carrying out your duties. It would not take long for you to revise essentials which would be useful in that kind of situation and get by at interview.
Good Luck!
Additional skills such as languages should be added to your resume in a section under skills or competencies. This would allow you to list a number of additional skills that may be of interest to employers. When listing an additional language use the terminologies; beginner, intermediate.
This is a point that can be discussed during an interview however you mentioned the skill and it may be of interest which could advance you above other candidate.

I use that I speak conversational Spanish (the 2nd language that I know). This stresses that while you are not fluent (which would include the business words and such that you may want), you are familiar with the conversational-type words that may come in handy as a flight attendant.
Simply write that you studied French for X number of years, and though you are not fluent per se, you can understand a significant amount and believe it would be beneficial to your job as a flight attendant.
In the section where you list “other skills” in your resume, write the following:
Speak, read and write French conversationally.
Suggest that you not inlcude this information. If you are not fluent then it is of no use to the airline who could hire you. Instead stress your other qualificatons.
That you are bilingual in French or try this site they have examples: http://www.resumeworld1.com
A substantial amount of experience/knowledge in the French language.
i do it like this:
English-fluent
German-advanced
Spanish- beginner
so your french would be ADVANCED
I can understand some French but am not fluent.
